CONGRESS INFORMATION

THE CITY
Beijing , the capital of China , is the nation's political, economic and cultural center and is unique in history, tradition and characteristics. Its origins can be traced to 3000 years ago, when a small city appeared on the present site of southwest of Beijing. It was the capital of Jin, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties. Now, Beijing is a modern metropolis of 16,800 square kilometers with a population of 13 million. You will find the city an unforgettable destination, with its ancient Great Wall, the Forbidden City, other historical landmarks evoking legends of dynasties long past. Beijing also boasts many parks and recreational centers, the folk shows of holiday celebrations, splendid theatrical stages, a grand city skyline.

WORKSHOPS AND CONGRESS DATES
The Pre-congress workshops will be held on Oct. 9-10, 2008; Evening Workshops will be held on the evenings of Oct. 13-15, 2008. The Opening Ceremony will be held at 09:00am, Oct. 12, 2008. After that, the scientific program will begin, continuing until Oct. 15, 2008.

CONGRESS VENUE
The Congress will be National Olympic Sports Center (NOSC), which is located at the south of Asian Games village and Beisihuan Lu Road, 30 minutes driving from Beijing Capital International Airport and 20 minutes to the downtown area (1 Andinglu Road, Anwai Xiaoguan, Beijing 100029, China).

LANGUAGE
The official language will be English and Mandarin Chinese. All presentations and abstracts must be in English. No simultaneous translation services will be provided during the Congress except for keynote speeches.

MEETING FACILITIES

Projectors
Standard multimedia LCD projectors will be available in all meeting rooms. A Preparation Room will be opened in NOSC during the Congress.

Electricity
The electricity is supplied at 220V, 50Hz in China .

Posters
The poster board is 1m wide by 2.4m high, hard surface and white color. The best size of the poster is about 0.9m (width) by 1.2m (height).

EXHIBITION
An exhibition “Ex-WCP 2008” will be held concurrently with the Congress at the same venue. All the public companies, research institutes, and industrial enterprises related to the psychology is welcome to attend the “Ex-WCP2008.” Please contact the PEO for the detailed information or refer the Congress website.
