Local Tours (LT)
LT tours will be valid for accompanying persons from Oct.22-24. Oct 25 will be open to participants.
LT1 Hutong Tour-Lunch-Beihai Park-Silk Market RMB 360
You will visit the backyards of Beijing, on a pedicab, across the small zig-zag lanes. After lunch, you will visit Beihai Park which is to the northwest of the Forbidden City and was built on the basis of a legend and used to be a royal garden. Finally, you will visit the famous market near the embassy area.
LT2 Beijing Zoo-Lamasery-Lunch-Temple of Heaven RMB 360
In the morning, a visit to the zoo to see the giant pandas. Then, you will see the famous lama temple, the most impressive and an active Buddhist temple in the city. One of the prominent features of the temple is the 23-meter-tall Maitreya Buddha, which was carved out of a whole trunk of white sandalwood tree from Tibet. After lunch, you will visit the Temple of Heaven which was built 600 years ago. It served as a means of communication between the Emperor and the Heaven. The buildings are a masterpiece of ancient architecture.
LT3 Forbidden City (Tian'anmen Square)-Lunch-Summer Palace RMB 420
The Forbidden City was constructed in 1406. It was the imperial palace of the Ming and Qing Dynasties from 1420 to 1911. An architectural masterpiece, it was China's political center for 500 years. It is now converted into a museum with a large imperial collection of porcelain, goldware, bronzeware, jadeware, traditional paintings, and jewelry. The Summer Palace is the largest and best preserved imperial garden. It used to be a retreat for emperors to escape the scorching summer heat in Beijing.
LT4 Ming Tombs-Lunch-Great Wal-Art Factory RMB 450
You will first visit an emperor's tomb of the Ming Dynasty (1380-1644). Then, after lunch, you will visit a section of the Great Wall. The Great Wall stretches 6000 kilometers from East to West China, traversing five provinces and two autonomous regions. Built first in 221 B.C. and re-built several times in the following 1500 years, it has become a symbol of the ancient Chinese civilization.
Evening Program (EP)
EP1 Peking Opera RMB160 18:00h-21:00h
Peking Opera has entertained Beijingers for over 200 years with its elaborate costumes, dazzling martial arts and musical dialogue. They are usually based on folk tales, famous novels, and fairy tales. The theater has a subtitle message board of English and Chinese.
EP2 Acrobatic Show RMB160 18:00h-21:00h
The Chinese Acrobatic Troupes have traveled to many countries and have amazed audiences everywhere. To watch the Chinese Acrobats is an experience that spectators will remember for the rest of their lives.
Post-Conference Tours (PT)
PT1 Beijing-Xi'an-Beijing (3 days)

D1 Gather in the hall of hotel after breakfast. Fly to Xi'an. Visit the Museum of History and the Great Wild Goose Pagoda. Transfer to the Orient Hotel.
D2 Visit the Terracotta Warriors and the Tombs Grave.
D3 Fly back to Beijing after breakfast, tour ends at airport.
PT2 Beijing-Xi'an-Guilin-Shanghai (6 days)

D1 Gather in the hall of the hotel after breakfast. Fly to XI'an. Visit the Museum of History and the Great Wild Goose Pagoda. Transfer to the Orient Hotel.
D2 Visit the Terracotta Warriors and the Tombs Grave.
D3 Fly to Guilin after breakfast; visit the Reed Flute Cave in the afternoon. Transfer to the Hotel-World-Plaza.
D4 Visit the Li Rive Cruise and the Elephant Trunk Hill.
D5 Fly to Shanghai after breakfast, seeing the city and Yu Garden. Transfer to the Longhua Hotel.
D6 Tour end after breakfast in the hotel.
PT3 Beijing-Lhasa-Xigaza-Lhasa-Beijing
Single Occupancy CNY 15200/person; Twin Occupancy CNY 14120/person
D1 Assemble to the hobby after breakfast in hotel. Fly to lhasa. Transfer to Xiangba La Hotel. Rest of the day is free for acclimation to altitude.
D2 Visit the Potala Palace and the Museum of the Tibetan.
D3 One-day Jokang Temple and Barkor Street trip in lhasa.
D4 Drive to Xigaza (400kilometers). Check in at Xigaze Hotel. Visit the Yamzhog Yumco Lake and Gyantse.
D5 Visit the Drapchi Tashilhunpo Temple. Drive back to lhasa to stay at Xiangba La Hotel.
D6 One-day Yangbajain geothermal trip.
D7 Fly back to Beijing, tour ends at the airport.
The whole prices do not include the incidental expense and the medical treatment costs. Note:
- The tours fee includes inter-city transportation, regular meals, hotel (three-star or above) accommodations, admission fees and an English-speaking tour guide.
- You can arrange the continuing flight from the tour end city by yourself. If necessary, CICCST could assist you.
- The detailed tour information of flight and hotels will be available by the end of May 2007 on the website.
- If no roommate name is indicated in your On-line Registration, your room will be arranged as a single room during the tour.
- Please make reservation through website on-line Registration System and pay USD200/person as a deposit before August 1, 2007.
- The post-conference tours will be arranged by China International Conference Center for Science and Technology (CICCST). CICCST will reserve the right to raise the prices or cancel any of the above tour routes, if attendees are fewer than 10 persons. In that case, the notification will be sent to you as soon as possible and the tour fee will be fully refunded.
